LMU Alert

LMU Alert is a system that allows the university to send important information and instructions to the LMU community during a campus or area-wide incident or emergency; the university utilizes phone calls, text messages, and/or email to send LMU Alerts. LMU may also utilize a public address system to provide information to learning spaces and offices.

If you are a member of the LMU community, please follow the instructions in the applicable accordion below to register for LMU Alert and maintain your LMU Alert contact information.

  • Students

    To promote safety and security, all registered LMU students are required to provide contact information for LMU Alert. Students will be required to update or confirm your LMU Alert contact information annually. To avoid a registration hold in the future, students can update or confirm contact information each year prior to Fall registration.

    Follow these steps to add, update, and/or confirm your LMU Alert contact information:

    1. Sign into PROWL.
    2. Click on "Personal Information."
    3. Click on "View / Update LMU Alert Contact Information."
    4. Click on "Update Data."
    5. Complete the LMU Alert form and click on "Update Data", or review your LMU Alert contact information and click "Confirm" if no changes are needed.
  • Faculty & Staff

    LMU Faculty and Staff are encouraged to provide your phone number(s) and your email address(es) to receive important information and instructions during a campus or area-wide incident or emergency.

    1. If you are full-time or part-time faculty or staff, log into LMU's Employee Self Service to add, confirm, or change your LMU Alert contact information.
    2. Under the main menu, click "Employee Self Service".
    3. With the Employee Self Service menu expanded, select LMU Alert.
    4. To make changes, click "Update", and enter your contact information.
    5. Click "Apply" in the bottom-right corner, click "Next", then click "Submit".
  • LMU Parents

    To receive LMU Alerts, access important emergency and safety information, and contact the LMU Department of Public Safety, parents of LMU students are encouraged to download and install LMU's free safety app, LiveSafe.

    1. Download the LiveSafe app from your app store or Google Play.
    2. Register and verify your phone number.
    3. Select "Loyola Marymount University".
    4. Enable push notifications to ensure you receive LMU Alerts and other campus safety communications without delay.
  • Children's Center

    Parents and guardians for those enrolled in the LMU Children's Center are asked to provide your phone number(s) and your email address(es) to receive important information and instructions during a campus or area-wide incident or emergency.

    1. Enroll by completing the LMU Alert Children's Center Registration Form.
    2. Your request will be verified by the Children's Center via email or phone within two business of online registration.

  • Religious Communities

    To receive LMU Alerts, access important emergency and safety information, and contact the LMU Department of Public Safety, members of LMU's religious communities who are regularly on the LMU campus are encouraged to download and install LMU's free safety app, LiveSafe.

    1. Download the LiveSafe app from your app store or Google Play.
    2. Register and verify your phone number.
    3. Select "Loyola Marymount University".
    4. Enable push notifications to ensure you receive LMU Alerts and other campus safety communications without delay.
  • Affiliates, Contractors & Vendors

    To receive LMU Alerts, access important emergency and safety information, and contact the LMU Department of Public Safety, contractors and vendors who are regularly on the LMU campus are encouraged to download and install LMU's free safety app, LiveSafe.

    2. Register and verify your phone number.
